What is Latte? Learn About The Type Of Coffee That Is Loved Around The World

title

Coffee is a drink associated with the daily lives of people around the world. In Vietnam, coffee is very popular to drink every morning next to the newspaper, drink during working hours to keep the mind alert, drink during meetings with partners and friends to make the conversation more exciting... Besides traditional black coffee and milk coffee, there are still other types of coffee with more artistic qualities, favored by many diners, especially young people, such as Cappuccino, Mocha and not to mention Latte. Café Latte is available in most cafes from take away to luxury cafes, restaurants... So what is Café Latte?

What is Latte?

Latte is an Italian style of milk coffee, made from the main ingredients Espresso and milk, of which Espresso accounts for 1/3, hot milk accounts for 1/3 and the remaining 1/3 is milk foam. The special thing that creates an attractive cup of Latte is the artistically shaped layer of milk foam.

Many people who are not too connoisseurs of coffee will easily confuse Latte with Cappuccino because both have 3 basic ingredients: Espresso coffee, hot milk, milk foam and shaped milk foam layer. However, with Cappuccino, the amount of hot milk can be equivalent to milk foam, and with Latte, the amount of milk foam is only half of hot milk. Therefore, compared to Cappuccino, Latte is less "bouncy". If enjoyed according to taste, Cappuccino is drunk in thick, pre-heated cups, while Latte is drunk in quite large glasses.

The amount of caffeine in Latte coffee is quite low, has the creaminess of milk, so it is suitable for many ages and those who are not used to drinking strong coffee. In addition, Latte also has many other attractive "versions" depending on diners' tastes such as Green Tea Latte, Caramel Latte, Hazelnut Latte...

Latte - A type of coffee that affirms the class of a Barista

Originating from distant Italy, today, Latte has become a popular coffee around the world, including Vietnam because of its delicious taste and modern preparation method. Café Latte is commonly served in many cafes, however, bringing diners the most standard and delicious flavor of Café Latte is not an easy task.

The barista must ensure that both the passionate coffee taste and the milky taste are shaped in an artistic and unique way. The creativity, uniqueness, and complexity of the milk foam shaping class is directly proportional to the level, skill, and class of a Barista. Therefore, in the Barista world, Latte Art is a challenging and equally interesting topic.

A true "standard" cup of Latte must be both rich in coffee, rich in milk flavor and beautifully artistically shaped - Photo: Internet Latte Art is the art of creating drawings on the surface of a coffee cup by pouring hot fresh milk into a cup of mixed coffee with a brown layer on the surface before the milk is added. When the white milk foam rises and comes into contact with this brown layer, it will create a contrast in color. When milk is poured in, the milk foam separates from the liquid and gradually floats to the surface.

Baristas must be very careful in mixing to keep the ratio of milk and coffee appropriate, thereby combining with skillfulness in the process of pouring milk to make the milk float to the surface and create unique images. Stunning. Latte Art depends heavily on foaming milk, coffee quality, and the Barista's ingenuity and aesthetic eye. There are two main types of Latte Art: free pouring (drawings created during the pouring process) and engraving (using tools to create drawings after pouring the milk foam). Free pouring is more popular because it requires less time to make.

Creating shapes of hearts, roses, fern leaves... are simple drawings, easy to make and are chosen by many new Baristas to create fragrant cups of Latte coffee to serve customers. As for skilled and experienced Baristas, they will create more complex and more artistic drawings. Therefore, working as a Barista is not simple and requires a lot of time for newcomers to perfect the above skills.

Hopefully, through this article, you will better understand what Latte coffee is and don't forget to visit a cafe and order a cup of Latte to enjoy the rich, delicious flavor as well as the artistic creation of this type of coffee. This famous cafe!
